About us

With the vision of organizing the first edition of a new Kurdish Film Festival in Zurich in 2026, the “Kurdish Film Festival Zurich” association was founded in late December 2025.

The Zurich Kurdish Film Festival sees itself as a meeting place that celebrates Kurdish cinema and Kurdish cultural creators in Switzerland, highlights the diversity of stories by and about Kurds, and aims to contribute to dialogue surrounding Kurdish films.

In building the festival, we were able to count on the support and expertise of many people.

Special thanks go to Selin Besili and Yusuf Orhan for their support, Mehmet Aktas of Mitosfilm and Ferhan Sterk of the London Kurdish Film Festival for their valuable contributions to the program, and Sabahet Meta of Kino Kosova for his constant availability.

We would also like to thank everyone who accompanies and supports the festival and makes it possible through their commitment.

The Zurich Kurdish Film Festival would like to thank the following partners, without whose generous support the festival could not have been organized and held:
