Bavê Tayar, a well-known Kurdish actor, has married four women in the hope of finally having a son after sixteen daughters. While two of his adult daughters join the YPJ women’s militia, it is his son Tayaro, of all people, who flees to Europe. Bavê Tayar sets out to find him. On his dangerous journey, he is confronted with his own ideas about family and society, and with the changes taking place within his family.
In his film, Ghamkin Saleh recounts the final journey of Bavê Tayar, an iconic figure who was part of many Kurdish people’s childhoods. The film also refers to his actual death in a Turkish drone attack.
