Murat Fıratoğlu once remarked in an interview that his film was about a man having a very bad day at work. After returning penniless from İzmir to his hometown of Siverek, Eyüp clashes with the foreman Hemme over unpaid wages while working in the scorching heat of a tomato field. His anger at his circumstances grows until he decides to kill Hemme. But between him and the act stand the people of the town, unexpected encounters and the comic circumstances of a day that becomes less and less miserable. Director and lead actor Fıratoğlu breaks with the familiar narrative conventions of a linear revenge story. With an understated approach, he makes both the structural exploitation of the working class and the seemingly unremarkable practices of everyday life tangible, revealing the profound in the small.
